National Sewing Month

Since September is National Sewing Month, I thought it would be fitting to focus on creative projects that involve sewing for the rest of the month. Although I have so many fun projects on my To Do list this month I think I will have to just wait to focus on those in October.

For starters I have been working on a little blessing outfit for a little boy. It is one of my first children's clothing focused projects. But overall I have to admit that it has been a lot of fun working on it and it has been pretty easy considering I have never made one before and I thought it would be alot more difficult.

This picture doesn't really show the adorable white buttons on the top or the pleats at the top but both the buttons and the pleats add a really nice touch to the outfit.

Designer Diaper Wipes Case Tutorial

Designer Diaper Wipes Case
So I have seen these little diaper case covers for some time now, so I decided to try my hand at making one myself. I love how it turned out! I just need to find some buttons to put on the ribbon to dress it up a little.

To make this Diaper Wipes Case you will need the following materials:
Glue gun, 1 Sheet of White Felt, Plain Diaper Wipes Case, Felt Ribbon, Designer Fabric, Black Trim

1. Cut 2 pieces of Felt the size of the top and bottom of the diaper wipes case and hot glue to case.

2. Once it is felt is glued to the case. Measure and cut the designer fabric you will be using to completely cover the diaper case.

3. Once the fabric has been cut to size, wrap the fabric around the case, while gluing it to the felt. Make sure not to glue the sides and front shut, just wrap the material as close to the edge as you can get.
(Gluing and wrapping the fabric around the case a little section at a time)

4. Now the fun part, Add the felt ribbon to the top of the case, along with any additional embellishments and finally cover the edges with the trim that you chose to cover all of the fabric edges (I used the hot glue gun); this helps to give the case a finished look.

(**Note: attach the ribbon on the top before you do the trim on the sides, so you can hide the ends of the ribbon under the trim)

Finished Product!!

Felt Flowers

Here are some cute little flowers that I made the other day with some friends.  They are super easy to make even for the non sewer and since I have so many nieces it is a fun little gift to give them all.

All you need is some felt, embroderiy floss, glue gun and some aligator hair clips...this is what you get

Attempts at Craftiness

Although I can't say that I was born a creative craftista I have a long list of creative projects that I would like to complete someday, and some that I already have.  The tricky part is finding time to do it all...which more often than not is in the wee hours of the morning.  In the meantime, here is a spot that I can post all of my little ideas, projects and inspirations.
